About us
Our mission
Wildfires, from natural disturbance to global emergency
Climate change is undoubtedly the greatest global challenge we must adress as a society in the coming years.
Today, with global temperatures soaring, nearly half of humanity lives in highly climate-vulnerable conditions, marking a shift from a climate to a global emergency. Meteorological conditions conducive to fires are escalating worldwide, especially in vulnerable regions like the Mediterranean basin.
Current Firefighting Efforts
Existing wildfire policies in the EU are insufficient against mega fires, focusing solely on suppression.
There’s a rising recognition of “fires beyond extinction capacity,” necessitating a shift towards prevention through landscape management, which is increasingly advocated by international scientific communities.
Lines of Action
With Mosaico we want to prepare territories through a participatory strategy that allows for the reduction of fire risk, enhancing economic valorization, sustainable development, and territorial resource security. These landscapes employ a mosaic agroforestry configuration to prevent fire spread effectively.

We believe in reducing fire risk through social engagement, institutional collaboration, diversified land uses, and stakeholder communication, thereby fostering adaptive solution management.
