MOSAICO Project information session in Villanueva de la Vera (Feb 12, 2026).

During January and February, the MOSAICO project’s technical team visited the 19 municipalities in the La Vera region covered by the agreement, with the aim of presenting the initiative to the local population and various community groups in the area.

In each municipality, open sessions were held aimed at both residents and interested associations and organisations. These meetings provided an opportunity to outline the main areas of work to be carried out over the two-and-a-half-year duration of the project, focusing on forest fire prevention and sustainable land management.

In addition to the presentation, the sessions have created spaces for dialogue and participation, during which proposals and initiatives with an impact on the region have been gathered, particularly those aligned with the project’s objectives. This exchange has been key to beginning to identify and connect local stakeholders in each municipality.

Through this process, MOSAICO is taking the first steps towards creating a collaborative network at the regional level, which is essential for driving collective action and strengthening the region’s resilience to the risk of wildfires.
